The EU, the US and other Western states have negotiated the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ATCA) for two years behind closed doors, disregarding international bodies such as the WTO and WIPO.

Although a draft has been released recently, this can only be the first step. We need to know the different positions of individual countries so we can target those who push for the hardest measures in ACTA. We also need an open process that allows citizens to influence the final text of the agreement.

public access to all ACTA documents and emphasises that fundamental rights and data protection should not be weakened.
